The most important news from the Microsoft Inspire Conference 2023
Satya Nadella delighted the audience at the Microsoft Inspire keynote with two significant announcements: the launch of Bing Chat Enterprise and pricing for Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Bing Chat Enterprise – Corporate data remains protected
According to the Work Trend Index, 70% of companies say they delegate as much work as possible to AI tools. However, AI tools that are not explicitly designed for enterprise applications do not provide protection for sensitive corporate data.
With Bing Chat Enterprise, user and business data remains protected and is not shared outside the organization. Chat data is neither stored nor transmitted to Microsoft. Also, the data is not used to train the algorithm.
Bing Chat Enterprise is included in Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard and Business Premium licenses. And in the future, Bing Chat Enterprise will also be accessible via Windows Copilot.
Microsoft 365 Copilot for Business pricing
Microsoft 365 Copilot will be available starting at $30 per user per month for Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard and Business Premium customers. The prices for the Swiss market are currently not yet known.
Microsoft 365 Copilot is built on Microsoft’s proven and comprehensive approach to enterprise security, privacy, identity, compliance and responsible AI. This means:
- Copilot inherits your existing security, privacy, identity and compliance policies from Microsoft 365
- Your data is logically isolated and protected within your Microsoft 365 tenant and always under your control
At the tenant level, Copilot respects individual and group permission policies. While some generative AI applications focus on a single function such as real-time transcription or texting, Microsoft 365 Copilot is in a class by itself. It has all the features of Bing Chat Enterprise and much more. Copilot provides thousands of capabilities and can analyze all your content and context to accomplish any task.
It is based on your corporate data in Microsoft Graph – this includes all emails, calendars, chats, documents and much more. For example, Copilot can generate an update from morning meetings, emails, and chats and send it to the team, update you on project developments from the past week, or create a SWOT analysis based on internal files and data from the web.
Visual Search in Bing Chat
As of now, Bing Chat has Visual Search based on OpenAI’s GPT-4 model. Users can upload images and search the web for related content. Bing can understand the context of an image, interpret it, and answer questions about it. Visual Search in Chat is now being phased in across desktop and the Bing mobile app. In the future, this feature will also be available in Bing Chat Enterprise.
