Together in person: strengthening our collaboration at the annual employee event
We have a dynamic, virtual working environment between Switzerland and Poland that is characterized by regular exchanges. But once a year there is a special occasion: the employee event, where we meet in person to strengthen our cooperation and further consolidate the corporate culture. From September 12 to 14, 2024, colleagues from Switzerland and Poland came together in Ljubljana for three days of workshops, leisure activities and socializing.
Strong team spirit and cooperation
Our journey began with our arrival in Ljubljana, where all of our colleagues, who usually only work together virtually, greeted each other happily. After a relaxed reception aperitif, where Balz Zürrer and Rafal Zimoch officially opened the event, we enjoyed the first evening with a dinner together in the Spajza. Over good food and wine, we took the opportunity to exchange ideas, get to know new colleagues and celebrate being together.
Workshops and experiences under the banner of Great Place to Work
On Friday morning, the Great Place to Work workshop was on the agenda. In small groups, we reflected on the results of the survey, discussed strengths and potential and developed creative ideas on how we can further promote our team and corporate culture. It was motivating to see how committed everyone was to further developing our joint success.
After the workshop, we went straight on to the picturesque town of Bled, where we arrived at 11:00 am. At the Spica restaurant, we enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal with a choice of meat or vegetarian options. This was accompanied by a choice of red or white wine, beer and homemade iced tea. This shared lunch gave us the opportunity to talk about the morning’s experiences in a relaxed atmosphere and recharge our batteries for the afternoon.
Leisure, culture and adventure
In the afternoon, we split into two groups: One group ventured onto the longest zipline in Europe and enjoyed a breathtaking nature experience over the green valley of the Dolinka River. The others visited the picturesque island of Bled, where we not only discovered the beauty of the region, but were also able to bake potica, a traditional Slovenian pastry, ourselves. Both groups returned full of experiences – and full of anticipation for the evening.
Sightseeing and a relaxed finish
Saturday started after a relaxed breakfast with a guided tour of Ljubljana. We explored the charming old town on bicycles and cycled along the Ljubljanica River to Špica before crossing the botanical garden and Tivoli Park. The mix of urban exploration and nature experience gave us a perfect opportunity to get to know the city in a very special way.
In the afternoon, we met back at the hotel to officially conclude the event with a farewell speech by Balz and Rafal. Over a final lunch together, we discussed the experiences of the last few days and looked back on an all-round successful event.
Cohesion and fresh energy for the future
Despite the changeable weather, we did not let the mood dampen. Quite the opposite: exploring the city together, the intensive discussions and the varied activities strengthened our team and fostered mutual understanding – both on a professional and personal level.
