Real business benefits of artificial intelligence
Our CEO Balz Zürrer kicked off the webinar with an introduction to the practical benefits of artificial intelligence in day-to-day business. These insights were aimed at creating an understanding of the application and value of AI in a business context.
Co-pilots as companions in everyday business life
Ralf Angermann then shared his personal experiences with the Microsoft AI co-pilots. He discussed how these tools support his day-to-day work and in which areas improvements would be desirable. This session offered practical insights into the use of AI tools. Whether summarizing e-mails in Outlook, brainstorming help in Loop or analyzing data in Excel – there are many possible applications. It became clear that the success and efficiency of these tools depend heavily on the quality and precision of the user’s input, i.e. the “prompts”. Ralf emphasized that clear and targeted communication with these AI assistants is crucial in order to gain maximum benefits from their use.
Focus on own customer solutions
A central part of our webinar was the presentation of our customized AI-based customer solutions. Particularly noteworthy is the “Oerlikon Mate”, a chatbot programmed by us that is able to answer complex search queries within large PDF files (with up to several thousand pages) using cleanly structured and indexed data. We also demonstrated how a shopping cart can be filled in a web store using a chatbot and intuitive text input. The last practical application we programmed was our own time recording system, which is integrated into Microsoft Teams. This makes it possible to record times with simple commands without having to switch directly to the time recording tool.
