For our German partner — a software company from the financial & leasing sector — we are looking for a hands-on Lead Software Engineer combining strong engineering skills with technical leadership: shaping architecture, raising quality, and guiding best practices.

This role combines architecture, delivery, and leadership. You will help turn business needs into a scalable platform, set engineering standards, and support the team’s growth through technical guidance. You’ll have a strong voice in technical decisions and a clear impact on how the product and engineering practices evolve. 160 – 220 PLN/h net (on a B2B contract)

Your tasks

Take ownership of the technical direction and support consistent delivery across the product.
Design and evolve microservices-based architecture with clearly defined REST endpoints.
Build and maintain backend services in .NET (C#) and ensure clean, stable API contracts.
Cooperate closely with the team working on React SPA to deliver smooth end-to-end functionality.
Work with PostgreSQL as the main persistence layer; support data modeling and access via Entity Framework / Repository pattern (depending on implementation).
Define and maintain development standards: code quality, conventions, reviews, and pragmatic documentation.
Support reliable delivery across environments (Dev / Staging / Prod) using Bitbucket (Git) and Bitbucket Pipelines (automated builds, tests, and deployments).
Work with containerized deployments using Docker, a Docker Registry, and Kubernetes deployments.
Work within an environment hosted on VMs in a traditional data center, with Kubernetes-based orchestration.
Keep engineering quality high across the product: security, maintainability, scalability, and extensibility.
Lead the engineering team day-to-day: guide priorities, unblock delivery, and support sound technical decisions.
Mentor and grow the team through onboarding, coaching, and knowledge sharing to strengthen engineering practices over time.

What you bring with you

Excellent English skills — confident communication in international teams; German is a strong plus.
Professional experience as a Senior Engineer (or higher), with responsibility beyond implementation (architecture, standards, technical decision-making).
A leadership mindset: you mentor others, give constructive feedback, and help teams work in a consistent, high-quality way.
Experience leading a small engineering team day-to-day (prioritization, unblocking, aligning on standards and technical direction).
Strong backend expertise in .NET (C#) and API design (REST; microservices experience is a plus).
Good understanding of modern frontend-backend integration; React experience is an advantage.
Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and common data access approaches (Entity Framework and/or Repository pattern).
Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes in real projects (deployment basics, troubleshooting, collaboration with DevOps).
Familiarity with Bitbucket (Git) and CI/CD setups (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines, multiple environments).
Strong engineering principles: maintainability, security, scalability, clean code, and pragmatic documentation.
A proactive, structured, and supportive personality with high ownership and accountability.
