SN Energie digitizes its filing structures with online
SN Energie AG, based in St.Gallen, has been producing, trading and transmitting electrical energy for over 90 years. With around 50 employees, it supplies energy suppliers in Switzerland with sustainable, market-oriented solutions and consistently invests in the expansion of renewable energies through SN Erneuerbare Energie AG (SNEE).
Together with Online Consulting AG, SN Energie has created the basis for a modern, collaborative way of working. The existing local data storage on file servers, NAS and personal drives was replaced by Microsoft 365 with OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. The aim was to standardize the filing structures, optimize collaboration with external partners and create the basis for future-proof working.
There was already a Microsoft 365 tenant for emails and telephony (including virtual meetings in Teams). However, other functions remained unused until now. Thanks to the commitment of Online, a standardized, modern working tool has now been introduced, with training, technical support and a structured project approach.
The solution
The introduction of Microsoft 365 at SN Energie comprised several coordinated components:
- OneDrive replaces the previous personal drive as individual data storage in the company.
- Microsoft Teams was introduced as a collaboration solution for departments, project and work groups – including the creation process, naming conventions, templates and checklists.
- SharePoint Online forms the new basis for company-wide data storage, with clearly defined areas, authorization concepts and hub navigation.
- Training courses were designed for specific target groups and held virtually, with practical exercises and accompanying documentation.
- Data migration was organized internally by SN Energie. Online provided advice and closely supported the team during the migration phase.
- After a thorough tenant analysis, security and governance were ensured through targeted measures such as conditional access policies. The solution is ready for a security audit.
- Helpdesk services and implementation support ensure operational stability and support when required.
