Our project “KVA Thurgau revolutionizes waste disposal with Low-Code Portal e-Container” has been nominated for the Best of Swiss Software Award 2025 in the Business Solutions category.
The renowned Institute for Information Systems at the University of Bern has intensively reviewed all submissions. By being included in the list of nominees, we are already one of the best software projects of the year and can hope to win a gold, silver or bronze medal.
The project: Digital waste management with foresight
The e-Container Portal of KVA Thurgau digitizes commercial waste management in 70 municipalities covering over 1,000 km².
- Instead of fixed tours, empties can be booked flexibly via app or web
- Over 4,500 containers are managed efficiently
- Dynamic planning reduces empty runs, cuts costs and reduces CO₂ emissions
KVA Thurgau has thus opted for a solution that makes the everyday lives of municipalities and businesses noticeably easier and at the same time has a lasting effect.
Low-code as a driver of innovation
The portal was developed as a scalable low-code solution on the Microsoft Power Platform. This technological basis makes the project particularly future-proof: New digital services can be integrated quickly and tailored to the needs of the public sector.
The e-Container Portal impressively demonstrates how digital innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand. It is a lighthouse project with appeal far beyond the region’s borders.
A milestone – and just the beginning
The nomination is a great honor for us and an important sign that innovative solutions for the public sector are seen and valued.
