Artificial intelligence as a driver for change in companies and society
On 15 April 2025, the Vaduzer Saal was once again transformed into a vibrant hub of digital transformation: over 400 decision-makers from business, science and politics attended the eighth edition of the Digital Summit Liechtenstein, organized by the location initiative digital-liechtenstein.li. The focus: the future of artificial intelligence and its role for companies and society.
AI as a transformation driver of the future
Under the motto “AI – Transformation of the Future”, the summit offered a top-class program that highlighted the opportunities and challenges of generative artificial intelligence from a wide variety of perspectives.
Right at the beginning, Lothar Ritter, President of the Board of digital-liechtenstein.li, outlined the rapid development in the field of AI and showed how the initiative is strategically addressing future topics – including through the further development of the Digital Roadmap Liechtenstein.
Hubert Büchel, the new Liechtenstein Minister of Economic Affairs, sent out a particularly strong signal in his opening speech: digitalization, he emphasized, is a clear location factor and not a minor matter.
Forward thinkers and strong impulses
Top-class speakers provided insights into the future of digital transformation:
- Christine Antlanger-Winter, Country Director Google Switzerland, spoke about the enormous innovation potential of AI and the development of sustainable future skills.
- Stephan Sigrist, founder of the think tank W.I.R.E., explained the impact of autonomous agents on the economy and society and emphasized the importance of quality and data competence instead of volume.
- Malcolm Werchota, an experienced AI expert, gave a practical demonstration of how companies can create real added value through targeted GenAI workshops.
- Patrick “Karpi” Karpiczenko brought fresh impetus and a humorous perspective with his creative take on AI topics.
- Fabian Schmid, the new Head of the Office of Information Technology of the Principality of Liechtenstein, presented specific e-government projects and emphasized the administration’s determination to boldly implement digital innovations.
Digital expert Sunnie J. Groeneveld led the program competently and with refreshing ease.

We are particularly proud of our ongoing projects in the public sector – such as our collaboration with the Liechtenstein state administration, which is an example of how we develop smart, scalable solutions that create real added value.
The summit provided an ideal platform for picking up new ideas and discussing how technologies such as Microsoft Copilot or generative AI can be put to good use – from smart document automation to data-based decision-making.
Networking and future prospects
The subsequent aperitif riche allowed for in-depth discussions about future projects and collaborations. The intensive use of this informal part of the summit once again underlined the importance of the event as a central platform for digital topics of the future in the Alpine Rhine Valley.
The feedback from our delegation was also positive: In particular, the clear focus on concrete implementation strategies, the close links between politics, business and science and the diversity of perspectives were highlighted as outstanding.
Liechtenstein: With courage and competence towards becoming an AI nation
The Digital Summit 2025 impressively demonstrated that Liechtenstein is serious about digitalization. The clear prioritization of the topic by the government and administration, the quality of the keynotes and the spirit of cooperation give an idea of the potential that lies in a coordinated digital strategy.
We at the Online Group are delighted to be part of this movement and to be actively shaping Liechtenstein’s digital future together with strong partners.
